EXHIBITORS AND VENDORS

Vendors and exhibitors add spice to the convention. There will be so many things to learn about, touch, see, feel, and buy! See all the displays, hear the talks and watch the demonstrations. Learn about other organizations, read the bumper stickers and buttons. Look at the displays, listen to tapes, and flip through the books and materials.

At this convention you can easily drop in to see our exhibitors since the Exhibit Hall is less than 25 steps from the business ballroom. Run and buy something from one of the vendors and get back to the business meeting before the end of a vote count. Going out to get your coffee? Walk by dozens of vendors and exhibitors while picking up your coffee at the Starbucks in the center of the Exhibit Hall.

PostHeaderIcon Events

What do we come to a convention for, beside the business, of course? It’s for the wonderful events! Plan to join us for some of the excellent events lined up this convention. Here is a partial list of things to come!

Brand New - Grand Opening of the Exhibit Hall. This year, we kick off the beginning of the convention with the opening of the events hall. Come see the wonderful displays, hear the speakers, learn about various companies and how they can help your campaign, feel the excitement of the new Exhibit Hall layout, and TASTE the treats sponsored by MPP. This event, a sure winner, starts at 4:30 PM on Thursday, the night before business starts. Open to all convention package holders.

Everyone’s Favorite - Opening Reception. As in conventions past, we will have the opening reception. This reception is open to convention attendees from Congressional and Congressional Aide through Presidential package holders. Be sure to get your ticket at check-in because you won’t want to miss the food or the entertainment.

Something Different - Exhibit Hall Speakers. With a stage and chairs in the Exhibit Hall, we now have a place for speakers and demonstrators to entertain and educate you. Not only will our vendors and exhibitors have a chance of use the Exhibit Hall stage, we will also bring in some of our most popular speakers. Relax with your Starbucks coffee or tea and listen to a wide range of entertaining speakers.

Something the Same - Breakfast and Lunch Speakers. As in conventions of yore, we will have several breakfasts and lunches with some of the most sought after speakers. For the best value, buy a higher end package.

A Special Plus - Breakout Speakers and Gallery Seats. In the past, there has been little to keep the non-delegate involved. At this convention, we have something for those people who come to learn about the LP, for those who come as a friend of a delegate, and for those who are not interested in some of the floor proceedings. The Congressional Aide package is specifically designed for the non-delegate with a very low price that includes a seat in the gallery and all breakout speakers. A Speaker package will allow delegates to experience all the breakout speakers as well.

“To get the $99 room rate you must tell the hotel you are with the
Libertarian National Convention.” Regular rates are $249.

Big Finishes - Parties, Suite Parties. Many people have already expressed the desire to hold a suite party or similar function for the delegates and their friends. Don’t miss your chance to meet with your favorite candidate or talk with old friends.

Cherry on Top - Presidential Cocktail Party and Dinner. A big part of the convention is to nominate our next presidential ticket. Don’t miss this exclusive affair! This affair is for Presidential package holders but others can join in the excitement by purchasing a ticket Ala Carte. Just remember these tickets will be limited, so get yours early.

PostHeaderIcon Speakers

Speakers, speakers and more speakers! There will be keynote and closing speakers, lunch and breakfast speakers, breakout speakers and more. Some will be fun, some will be intense, some will offer training, some will tell you of things to come but all will be exciting! More speakers will be added as we fill out the schedule. Confirmed speakers include:

Earl Allen - has spent the last several years working in China. He is an outstanding political activist who promotes the Libertarian philosophy through his elegant speaking ability, and has received the Advanced Toastmaster Bronze award from Toastmasters International.

Councilman Doug Anderson - currently serves on the Lakewood city council, Colorado‚s 3rd largest city. He was also the first Libertarian to be elected to a partisan race in Colorado. He served as an Election Commissioner in the late 80’s and appeared in one of the very first professional television ads to promote the Libertarian Party. Doug is a past winner of the Ptak award and the “Lextington Lifetime Achievement Award.

Bob Barr, a former congressman who represented the 7th district of George in the U. S. House of Representative, is a Lifetime member of the Libertarian Party. Working hard to restore our Freedoms and Privacy, Congressman Barr has joined with such organizations as Patriots to Restore Checks and Balances, the Leadership Institute, the Libertarian Party and the National Rifle Association, often serving on the boards of such organizations. This quiet gentleman, who knows how to hold our attention, speaking about issues that are important to all of us, will surely be one of the highlights of the convention.

Dr. Gary Michael - also known as The Talk Doc, became a Libertarian many years ago. Those who attended his speech at the Colorado State Convention had nothing but praise for him. As a speaker and author, this man uses stories, humor and audience involvement to make people stronger leaders and clearer communicators. (A special training session can be set up at the convention, if interest is high)

Reggie Rivers - a long time friend of the libertarian movement, once again charms us with his wit and stirring commentary. This former NFL running back has proved himself as a sports writer, radio host, and television sports anchor. He has also authored several books and says that his new one “The Colony”, scheduled to be out by the convention, should be of special interest to libertarians. Many of those who have heard him, say he was the best, they had ever heard. Very few speeches remain with you for years, but like Barbara Goushaw’s Welcome Home speech, Reggie River’s speeches have staying power.

Mike Ferguson - a long time Libertarian activist, defeated his opponent in a local election with 73 percent of the vote. Running credible campaigns prior to this election helped make this campaign a winning one. Mike is a great speaker with an attractive style, making it one of the must see speeches of the convention.

Craig Shirley - is President and CEO of Shirley & Banister Public Affairs, the public relations, marketing, and government affairs firm he originally founded in 1984. Mr. Shirley is a frequently sought-after commentator and speaker by the national media on politics, ideology, and Washington and has appeared on national television including C-SPAN, CNBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, FOX News Channel and others.
